Through the use of music and unique visual styles, Just Wrightà and Brown Sugarà depict healthy black love.Populated by stunning, lively women who use black vernacular, Just Wrightà creates a romantic world that springs up to the accented rhythms of black idioms like RB, jazz, and hip-hop. The love story in an urban world is depicted to revolve around Latifahs quest to find her ideal black man (Pough 32). The film lingers on the palatability of sexual tension that often burst at the scenes. It involves a pin on romance featuring Common, a recording artist, and Latifah. The movie also shows some love for black hair. The passionate male lead in the film asks his girl to confiscate her weave, saying that he fancies her real hair. In this scene, Scott distinguishes himself as a treasurable prince who prides on being an impeccable gentleman.Just Wrightà combines the love story with dynamic basketball sequences that intersperses NBA professionals, and hip-hop soundtracks that serve to direct the film into a warm, steady beat. The audience is left wondering whether the perfect gentleman and the flawless home-girl will find impeccable harmony. After Scott agonizes in a lethal leg injury that jeopardizes his career, Leslie shows affection by moving into his house as his morale builder, physical therapist, and a simple homegirl (Pough 36). The film takes considerable time, mediated by love songs, for the couple to engage in conversations and fall in love. They act lovingly towards each other. The film of depicts love by the virtue that it refreshingly lack antagon ists and stereotypical jocks.
